Brent, Great to fish with you! I've been many places, but that was truly special. Great company, good fishing, and lot of laughs! Cannot wait to see the pictures- I'm already warning my fishing buddies to prepare to drool! And the book will be great conversation in the man cave at our new home!

Just a quick note to thank you from the 3 old geriatric fishermen aka the 3 Blind Mice and sharing your magnificent secret of the Rangitikei River.

It wasn’t until we flew into your remote campsite that I realised what we had to offer in NZ in the way of rugged isolated splendour.

Successful dry fly fishing for large trout in a pristine environment – it doesn’t get much better than this.

I suppose that even the most generous hearted fly-fisher will have one secret fishing location that remains undisclosed to anyone. This would represent “Bucket List” material of course.

Thanks so much for giving them such a superb introduction into fly fishing.

Thanks so much for taking the boys - Henry who has never been interested in NZ especially when I get so excited about the All Blacks now wants to buy a house here in Taupo.

Your Guide

The first time I ever hooked a trout with the rod bending in half I was totally addicted to a sport that has captivated me. I would drive of hours, spot the trout and fish until the light had gone then drive back home. Crazy? You bet.

You may ask if guiding is work -not for me! Guiding is just an extention of a passion I have for fly fishing and sharing my knowledge with clients so they can experience the natural beauty that only the wilderness of New Zealand has to offer. Often I find myself apologising to clients that my office furniture is somewhat minimalistic but the views from my window are just spectacular, so its not the catching, its the environment, stalking the runs then theres the peace and scenery - the magic of the wilderness.

Having learnt to fish as a young fellow it wasnt until my early 20's that I found the wonder of fly-fishing, so it was very fortunate that my career as a broadcaster, spanning 25 years, allowed me to indulge in my passion. After moving to Taupo in the early 90's and having a change of career as Events Marketing Manager for the district, I still managed to find time to guide for an exclusive lodge until I made the choice to fish full time.

I pride myself on providing the best possible experience for all my clients through understanding and appreciating indvidual needs and requests, be it their first time, regular visitors or experienced anglers who want to land that trophy trout, it's giving them the best possible experience.

I have developed friendships with clients that I am proud to know with many returning to fish with me time and time again.

I look forward to the opportunity to fish with you, to share my passion and show you the fantastic scenery Taupo and New Zealand has to offer.
